Portfolio Two is our second longest portfolio. It began in September 2004 and thus has been investing for six and a half years. $3500 has been invested by the beneficiary and $7000 by the custodian for a total of $10,500 and the value is $11,866. Thus the gain is $1,368 or 13%, which is about 3% / year for the life of the fund.
The portfolio has 11 stocks, meaning that it is reasonably diversified, with 6 overseas ADR’s and 5 US stocks.
We are doing reasonably well; our newest picks have done well in the last mini-bull run and we sold off Nokia, our last active dog in the portfolio. Like portfolio one we are watching URBN which was hit hard when it missed earnings slightly last quarter, and Diageo (UK) a spirits company is still below our purchase price and subject to fluctuations in the British pound.
